Challenge
The museum lacks a digital presence, with no dedicated website or independent social media. This absence of online visibility makes it difficult for potential visitors to find information and for the museum to establish or showcase its branding, especially on an international level. As a result, the overall engagement is undermined.

Examining key exhibit elements
Exhibit showcases steam engine and era-specific technology
The content could be divided into two main parts. The centerpiece is the historic steam engine, which once generated electricity for the town, while the second part features technology from that era on display.

Analysing target audience
Visitor analysis highlights older demographic, aiming for youth engagement
Most of the customers are couples of old age who brings their family for a visit. Connoisseurs of older electronics and steam engines also visits the museum whenever something new is found. While this is their prominent visitors, Stoom en Stroom would like to attract a younger demographic.

Result
I aimed to blend the vintage technology with contemporary graphic design trends. This involved integrating old photographs with modern vector shapes. Additionally, I wanted to bring the electronics and machinery to life by anthropomorphizing them, which also makes them easy to use in stop-motion animation.
The anthropomorphing and the use of vector shapes will call a younger generation.

Goals
Rebrand the museum to create a more visually engaging and appealing identity.
Promote four upcoming events through the creation of posters and/or small animations that align with the new brand.
Increase the amount of visitors.
